The game was breathless but low on quality in front of goal until Arsenal punished Spurs from a corner, Gabriel escaping from Cristian Romero and powering a header past Guglielmo Vicario from close range in the 64th minute.
Augustine Eguavoen has announced his decision to step down as the interim coach of the Nigerian national football team, Super Eagles.
Eguavoen announced this on Tuesday immediately after he led the team to a convincing draw in a match against Rwanda.
The indigenous coach was appointed as interim coach a few days ago after Bruno Labbadia rejected his appointment with Nigerian Football Federation (NFF). His first match was a convincing 3-0 win against Benin Republic in Uyo last weekend.
The coach explained his decision was because he was only engaged for two matches which he had completed. “I have been given a mandate to handle two games. According to Finidi, he still hasn’t received any apology from Osimhen who scored for the Super Eagles in their 3-0 win over Benin Republic on Wednesday in the AFCON qualifiers.
“I sent him a message that it was not the best way, just someone telling you that coach said that and you’re taking about me like I said it in an interview,” Finidi told Nigeria Info FM. From that point I didn’t hear from him, I moved on and I wish everybody well, only God will judge”.

Jackson played an important role as Chelsea ran out 6-2 winners against Wolves on Sunday.
The 23-year-old’s performance comes a week after Blues hero Mikel criticised him following his display in the 2-0 loss to Manchester City, saying that he is not of the quality Chelsea need.
“You need a striker who knows how to hit a ball in the back of the net and that’s what we don’t have,” he said on Bein Sports. “I know I talk so much about him and sometimes I sound like I disrespect him. I don’t disrespect him. I think at Chelsea Football Club we need a top striker who can get us a goal.”

But Zirkzee, on as a second half substitute after a summer switch from Bologna, produced a moment of quality on his full debut, deftly opening up his foot to divert a cross into the corner and pinch the points.
